Information and Features About Apple Macbook Mb062ll/b Laptop

Stylishly and intelligently designed for your on-the-go digital lifestyle, Apple's MacBook is the perfect confluence of affordability, innovation, and powerful computing. This latest iteration of the MacBook line is pre-loaded with Apple's Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard operating system, which adds over 300 new features including easy backup of your most important data via Time Machine, a redesigned desktop that helps eliminate clutter, and the newest version of the fast-loading Safari web browser.

Intel Core 2 Duo Processor:-The Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 processor has a 2.2 GHz processor speed, super-fast 800 MHz front-side bus (FSB), and an enormous 4 MB of Smart Cache, an L2 cache that can be shared between the cores as needed. The Intel Core 2 Duo's 128-bit SSE3 vector engine handles 128-bit computations in a single clock cycle, accelerating data manipulation by simultaneously applying a single instruction to multiple data. And its two execution cores are designed to share resources and conserve power, helping it to achieve higher levels of performance since it uses fewer watts. And with 4MB of shared L2 cache, the MacBook is a multi-tasking monster. With such substantial L2 cache, data and instructions can be kept close to the two processor cores, greatly increasing performance and allowing the entire system to work more efficiently. And, because the processor cores share the L2 cache, either can use the entire amount if the other happens to be idle.

Hard Drive and Memory: - The 120 GB Serial-ATA (SATA) hard drive (5400 RPM) quickens the pace with a higher speed transfer of data--akin to FireWire and USB 2.0. The 1 GB of PC5300 DDR2 RAM (two SO-DIMMs of 512 MB) has an industry-leading 667 MHz speed, and the RAM capacity can be increased to a whopping 4 GB.

Display and Graphics: - Whether you're working on a Keynote presentation or watching a movie before you catch a flight, every document, video, and photo on your MacBook will look sharp on the glossy 13.3-inch widescreen display. With pixel-perfect 1280-by-800 resolution, it's great for viewing and working with media. Video is powered by the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100, which provides 144 MB of DDR2 SDRAM shared with main memory.

Wireless Connectivity:-The built-in 802.11n wireless networking provides up to five times the performance and twice the range of 802.11g, but it's also backward-compatible with 802.11a/b/g routers, enabling you to communicate with the a wide variety of Wi-Fi resources.

Keyboard and Mouse:-The track pad can tell if you've got one finger on the pedal, or two. With two, you can easily scroll around your documents or open contextual menus. When you need right-click functionality, simply open keyboard and Mouse in System Preferences and enable the secondary click preference.

Information About Dell Inspiron 1420 Laptop and It’s Features

It might not be terribly cheap, but Dell's Inspiron 1420 offers plenty of portable power and options without sacrificing fun. The Dell Inspiron 1420 is offered with the new Core 2 Duo processors with 800MHz front side bus and clock speeds ranging from 1.5GHz to 2.2GHz. Along with T7100, T7300, and T7500 Core 2 Duo CPUs there are two new budget models: the T5450, and the T5250. According to earlier reports, Dell Inspiron 1420 will be also configurable with the “Santa Rosa” compatible Celeron M processor.

The keyboard is now a lot more responsive. Keys have better elevation and offer very good tactile feedback. The touchpad has been reduced in size and offers better traction for more precise control. This might because problems for people with large hands, however, as the reduced size might feel a little cramped. The LCD panel has also received an upgrade. Though the size remains the same (14.1 inches), the resolution has been raised to a widescreen 1440x900 (16:10) from the previous 1280x800. Apart from this, the LCD panel continues to offer the same level of sharpness and display that earlier Dell models offered. Text/image display is crisp, and watching movies on the larger resolution is quite enjoyable, keeping in mind that this is a media center laptop.

Better at multimedia than most notebooks its size, the 1420 offers rich, medium-volume sound. The laptop also sports Dell's standard Media Direct button, which works better than other instant-on buttons. With this button, you get direct access not only to movie, music, and photo players but also to office-application viewers, a feature that lets you check, say, an Outlook phone number or a PowerPoint slide without having to start Windows. Dell sells some reasonably priced multimedia add-ons, too, ranging from a $15 IR travel remote to a $125 TV tuner.

One of the rarer things you'll find in a budget laptop is discrete graphics. Dell opted to forgo a faster processor and go for better gaming performance. The nVidia GeForce 8400M GS is the same graphics chipset found on the XPS M1330. It produced decent frame rates on Prey, 3DMark 06, and Company of Heroes, and should impress casual 3D gamers. Hardcore gamers should be on the lookout for the GeForce 8700M GT, coming out soon on a future Dell XPS laptop. With any laptop, any time you're faced with choosing between a nine-cell battery and a four-cell battery, you take the one that will get you more battery life. The nine-cell produced 3 hours 28 minutes playing a DVD movie. Although it adds about a half a pound to the laptop, the extra running time you get with it is well worth the upgrade.

This laptop provides a wireless LAN connection with an optional support for 802.11n draft Wi-Fi standard, Ethernet LAN, a 56K modem and optional Bluetooth. There are also HSDPA and EVDO wireless broadband options for various provider networks. The 1420 has a 7.1 channel sound system, an optional built in 2 megapixel web camera, four USB ports, Express Card slot, a 8-in-1 memory card reader, and Firewire, as well as VGA and S-Video outputs. Dell Inspiron 1420 features a new chassis design, when compared to previous 1405 model, and comes in eight various colors. It weighs 5.4 lbs with 6-cell battery.

* Screen: 14.1-inch WXGA+ (1440 x 900) Ultra Sharp TFT Display with TrueLife

On the inside it houses the 2.16GHz Intel Core Duo Processor, up to 4GB of RAM and greatest nVidia Go 7900 GTX graphics card with 512MB of memory.

Design:-

The quality of a laptop's physical design, with particular emphasis on size and weight. Keyboard and cursor controls are critical: Keys should be of sufficient size, offer decent travel, and be logically organized, and the touch pad and the pointing stick (or both) should be responsive and precise. Display:-

The system's TrueLife 17-inch high-contrast widescreen display is a joy to behold, bringing life to games and providing bright and lovely movie images. Its powerful graphics subsystem, the laptop can handle the screen being cranked all the way up to 1,920-by-1,200, its native resolution. With the processing power available, that means incredibly detailed gaming performance with huge frame rates. The display is also excellent for viewing movies and TV. No built-in TV tuner is present, but an optional external TV tuner and remote costs $130. Dell has gone with an integrated subwoofer to complement the two front-mounted speakers. The result is a meatier sound than most notebooks offer.

Features:-

* System: Dell XPS M1710 (Red color lid)
* Processor: Intel Core Duo T2600 (2.16 GHz)
* Hard Drive: 100GB capacity at a speed of 7200 RPM

* Integrated Subwoofer
* Battery: 9-cell lithium ion rechargeable battery
* Price of this configuration: $4,215 (base price of black metallic M1710 starts at $2,600)

Performance:-

The M1710 seems determined to blast performance records to bits. It’s the first gaming notebook to arrive in PC Magazine Labs that's built with nVidia’s GeForce Go 7900 GTX, by far the most powerful mobile graphics chipset available. Benefiting from this screaming 3D subsystem, M1710M test system beat the XPS M170 by 12 percent on 3DMark 2005 and by 23 percent on our Doom 3 benchmark tests. The 2.16-GHz Intel Core Duo T2600 works in tandem with the Go 7900 GPU and a satisfying 512MB of DDR2 VRAM to deliver top-flight performance. 3DMark03 was thoroughly conquered with a score of 18,319, a good 24 percent above results from the XPS M170. The most powerful mobile graphics chipset available. The real thrill of an XPS notebook is its performance, and the M1710 doesn't disappoint.
.
Battery life:-

The M1710 delivered a respectable 2 hours 42 minutes of battery life in our Mobile Mark 2005 productivity test, so we would expect a good chunk of that runtime to be sacrificed to the gaming gods. All this power will cost you—and I don't just mean the $4,215 sticker price. The XPS M1710's blazing configuration demands plenty of juice, and its short (2.5 hours) battery life reflects that reality. Because of the notebook's substantial weight (8.8 pounds), the likelihood of your playing games on battery power is pretty slim.

Rocket Powered Linux Laptop

For complete instruction on using gOS Rocket please visit:

BeginLinux.com

The original gPC was released in early November 2007, and it brought us the innovative gOS Operating system. gOS is based on Ubuntu + Enlightenment and offers Google integration with many of the desktop applications. Direct access to Youtube, Google Docs, Meebo, Blogger, and more comes from a collection of icons residing on the Ibar at the bottom of the gOS desktop. Another feature that is unique to gOS is the shelf storage a functional organization system.

When the $199 gPCs hit the Walmart shelves, they didn't stay there long. High demand same can be said for online environment where ordering methods still seem to be exhausted from the surprising demand for this inexpensive but functional desktop unit. The Everex TC2502 Green gPC comes with 1.5 GHz Via Technologies C7-D processor, pre-installed office software from OpenOffice.org, DVD-ROM/CD-RW drive, 512 MB of DDR2 system memory, 10/100 Mbps Ethernet, and a 80 GB hard drive.

At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Everex announces the CloudBook Ultra-Mobile PC. The Cloud is 9 inches long, weighs in at 2 pounds, boasts a 1.2GHz VIA C7-M ULV mobile processor and it provides your with five hours of use with a single battery charge due to the the 4-cell, lithium-ion battery. Also the Cloud sports a 7 inch wide screen LCD and the pre-installed and linked software includes Mozilla FireFox, gMail, Meebo, Skype, Google Documents & Spreadsheets, Google Calendar, Google News, Google Maps, Wikipedia, Google Product Search, GIMP, Blogger, YouTube, Xine Movie Player, RhythmBox, Faqly, Facebook and OpenOffice.org 2.3 which includes Writer, Calc, Draw, and Impress for all of your office needs.

Due to the lack of a gOS compatible webcam, gOS and meebooth partnered with Ezonics, a leader in web cam developement, and created the gCam. It looks as if more accessories are to come for the Cloud too. Ezonics CEO Liu Ping commented "We are excited to work with gOS to launch the gCam as a first of many Linux friendly, cloud devices."

One major enhancement of the Everex Cloud over it's predecessor is the new Rocket 2.0 gOS operating system. The existing gOS 1.0 desktop has been enhanced adding features like gbooth, a web browser-based application that makes capturing photos and movies a snap. Other improvements include pre-installed Flash plugin for online movie viewing, improved reliability for Exalt Wi-Fi manager, virtual desktops for easy grouping of applications across multiple desktop spaces, and easy online storage, backup, and file sharing at box.net.

Other small, inexpensive, Linux powered PCs are popping up everywhere after the Asus Eee PC sold 40,000 copies right out of the gate and the original gPC still show sold out almost everywhere. At ZaReason.com they sold out of their pre-order alotment of the Cloudbook right away. Besides the positive response from consumers the future of Everex and others looks even brighter when taking into consideration their future plans. Everex plans on releasing a developer version 60 days after the initial cloud release which will include a touch screen, also 9 inch versions are on the way soon and possibly a wide selection of light skins.

The Pros and Cons of a Laptop

A laptop, also called a notebook, is a small mobile computer. Depending on the size, material used for manufacturing it and other factors, its weight ranges from 1 to 8 kilograms (i.e. 2 to 18 pounds).

The source of power is usually a single main battery, or an external AC/DC adapter is used. Apart from supplying power to the laptop, it also charges the battery. To avoid havoc in case of power failure, a 3 Volt cell is provided to run the clock and other vital system processes.

Though laptops are equally capable and powerful as desktop computers, they are much more expensive than similar capability and configuration desktop computer. Size is the unique property of a laptop. The components used in both, laptops and desktops are the same in terms of the functions they perform, but the components in laptops are miniaturized and made to support efficient power consumption.

LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) is usually the technology used for the display screen. They have a built-in keyboard and a touchpad as input devices. Provision is also made for connection of external mouse, and even keyboard.

Apart from the advantages like compactness and mobility, a set of disadvantages has also been associated with laptops.

A huge amount of discrepancy is observed when it comes to standardization issues of laptops. There exist worldwide standards for form factors of the peripherals and add-in PC cards used in a desktop computer. But no such standards are as yet enforced for form factors of laptop internals. Electric voltage, motherboard layouts, internal adapters used in connecting the hard disk, optical drive, LCD cable, keyboard and floppy drive to the main board, all still face issues with standardization. These hits hard on the poor user who is uneducated in this relevant field. Apart from them, a bit of difficulty may also be faced by the repair technicians. Familiarization of different parts and hardware that perform the same function is important.

As an outcome of the improper, or all most no standardization, the laptops suffer compatibility problems too. Most of the times, it is not possible to use one manufacturer`s components in the laptop produced by another manufacturer. The reasons behind this can be assurance of product stability, prolong product lifetime, and to avoid dubious warranty issues. Some manufacturers provide the laptops with a set of ports to let the user connect the hardware that he wants to use.

Upgradation of a laptop is another issue. Due to both technical and economic reasons, it is limited. Due to the proprietary designs of the laptops by each manufacture, it is difficult to upgrade them and most of the times even repairing is a costly affair. The standard peripherals, like audio, video, USB, 1394, Wi Fi, Bluetooth, are integrated in the motherboard. Upgrading these thus requires either of external ports, card slots or wireless peripherals. As far as the memory units and batteries are concerned, they can generally be upgraded according to the user`s needs.

Performance is another issue. RAM is shared between program memory and graphic adapters in laptops. Because of which performance of the laptop is affected. The major concern of the designer is compactness and energy efficiency against high performance. Generally, for the home requirement, laptops prove out to be good options for fast achievement of required performance. With new technology like dual core processors and perpendicular recording, laptops` performance is already showing a progressive graph when compared to the desktops.

Laptops can also pose health hazards. Temperature generated by laptop can affect sterility in men. Also, laptop keyboard can lead to RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury). Thus it is advised to place the laptop on a table or desk when working.

Your Guide To A Notebook

A notebook or laptop is nothing but a small portable computer that weighs 2.2 to 18 pounds (1 to 8 kg), that depends on its brand, style, size, material it is made of, and many other factors. Notebooks generally operate on a single main battery or through an external adapter that can both charge the battery and also supply power to the notebook.

Notebooks are adept at performing the same jobs like a personal desktop; the only difference is that they are generally less powerful for the same cost. They consist of similar components like desktop computers and execute the same functions, except that they are miniature in size and suitable for transportable use and effective power consumption. Notebooks usually have LCD and different memory modules. They have a built-in keyboard; input is done through a touchpad or a pointing stick, though an external mouse can also be attached.

There are different categories of notebooks. UMPCs are Ultra-Mobile PCs and are very portable. Since they are of a small size they can fit in a small touch screen while some other models have a minute physical keyboard along with a mouse interface. The other type is Ultraportables which are notebooks and have screens less than eleven inches and have less than 3.7 pounds (1.7 kg) of weight. They are generally used by business travelers, as they are small and light though very expensive. They have an extended battery life and integrated graphics. The other type of notebook is the Sony VAIO FJ76, and Dell XPS M1330 and XPS M1210. Then we have the mainstream notebooks that are more of budget desktops. And if you want desktop power, then you can opt for desktop replacement which can accommodate many performance components.

As far as the processors are concerned you should go for the fastest that your budget will allow. You can opt for Intel`s Centrino that has great speed and also good battery life. Or else you can also go for the economic AMD`s mobile processors whose performance still lags behind Intel. If you intend to watch DVDs on your notebook then go for wide screen ones that offer sharper, larger and great images. The only consideration is that they are not meant for carrying around a lot.

For great system performance it is vital to have enough memory (RAM) that will allow you to run many applications together. Adequate RAM is also essential for image and video editing, graphics work, and 3D gaming. Generally notebooks have a terrible sound quality so it is recommended to use speakers or headphones. These are some of the factors that you need to consider before buying a notebook.

Also keep in mind that like any electronic device, your notebook is vulnerable to accidents as well as system failures. It is recommended to get at least a three year warranty and also some additional insurance.

Health hazards related to using a laptop has been a controversial topic for quite some time. Researches have proved that heat generated from notebooks can raise temperature of scrotum, leading to reduced sperm count. A solution can be using it on a table or keeping it apart from the lap that will enable better cooling of the notebook and also prevent your lap from excessive electromagnetic radiation and heat.

Some of the famous brands that have notebook are Acer that have TravelMate, Ferrari and Aspire models; BenQ; Compaq with its Armada, LTE, EVO and Presario models. Other famous brands are Gateway, HCL, Lenovo, LG, Micro-Star International, Panasonic, Samsung, Toshiba and others.

Is your Harddrive Getting Full on your Notebook?

but if you use noteboo, there is limitation of adding drive.

do you travel a lot? movin around? I use Western Digital 250 GB USB Portable Hard Drive

they are small and easy to carry around. instead of storing the all your important data into your notebook, why don't you keep it in there separately?

I seen lot of people getting their notebook computer stolen and lost data etc.

this way all your data is on your drive even if notebook is stolen, (well make sure that you don't get both stolen) good thing I like about this external drive is that you can encyrpt the data that's being stored. you can use it as simply back up as well.

and also the tip of in case your notebook is stolen.

always keep your booklet etc that comes with your notebook, and also keep the MAC address listed under your notebook, or if it's on the box cut it out and keep it.

if you have MAC address kept somewhere, if the theif uses your notebook, go online, you can trace your notebook via MAC address. MAC address is unique to each network card, like social security number, and through all the internetprovider (ISP) police can trace the where it is located and bam! they will be knocking on theif's door.

It has happened to my friend once, actually their wireless router didn't have security, then theif was using the stolen notebook going internet through that. so cop came knocking on their door, they lived in highraise, so cop went to few doors down and caught the guy.
